{ Settings: Midnight. A forest with a nearby lake. }
It was dark, a bit past midnight, and the young ocelot male was fully awake, as he often was during this time of the night. But unlike most nights, the young ocelot had not hunted the night before, like he knew he should have done, and therefore, was very, very hungry. The ocelot's name was Rafiki, which meant demon or night hunter in the feline's tongue, while it meant friend in wolven or canine tongue. Rafiki stalked the lands, coming to the lake and staring into his monsterly reflection. I am such a monster.. He glared up, into the moonlight. Why must I be such a monster? He called out, crying into the darkness - seaching for an answer; any answer.

The young wolf-dog looked up at the midnight moon, smirking at it's beauty. It seemed to mock her at how lovely it was, and how the beauty of the Gaia once was, was now lost to the humans who resided in these lands.
She stood up, looking for anyone around at this time. Her friend Airam, was no where near her for the time being, and she knew that she wouldn't be around these lands for awhile, until she came back from wherever she wandered off to.
Her crimson orbs stared into the dark forest below her, due to the fact she was at high peak at the moment. She never stayed in the forest, unless she wanted solitude, if not, she would stay in these mountains for the cool breeze. Her ears perked foward, spotting a small shadow at the lake of the forest.
She smirked, her canines bearing themsevles to the lands around her, as she stood up, starting her small trek down the peak.

The ocelot's auds twitched, flicking softly, and eventually coming to fold back into the direction of that which the wolf-dog was approaching from. Something was coming; something very large. He sinks into the shadows, moving swiftly and silently. He sprinted across the lake, jumping over it and hissing lightly. Chances are, the creature that was coming could also run faster then him. Afterall, Rafiki was only the size of the average house cat. No smaller then the average sized house pet. He moved into the forest, racing up his tree and clinging to the branches of it, orange hues glued to the clearings.

Airam, a silvery-white furred lynx padded alongside the edge of the forest, where the trees and the pasture met, not entering it just yet. Stopping, she looks over the clearing, pale blue orbs pointing over the horizon. It was dark, but the moon lit the sky at this time of night. She snorted and turned around and padded off into the greatly shadowed forest.
She knew these lands, she wandered off here in the past. Airam was a wanderer, though she had lands of her own. She returns to her territory often, but for tonight she decides to enter these lands and search for something to eat, for she did not have a meal the entire day.
Quietly padding in the forest, she heads over to the lake. Hoping that there will be some fish to catch and devour. Airam arrives at the lakeshore and takes in the scents of the air. Someone has been here. She thought, smelling the scent of another creature that was here before.
She looked over to the water and looked into it, trying to see if there were some fish swimming in the lake. She spots one and uses her large paw to quickly swap at it, sending it into the air. She grabs the airborne fish with her muzzle and pads over to a rock where she could rest and eat her catch.
Stripping of the fish meat off its bones, she finished devouring that fish and leaped off the rock to go catch another. Airam would continue fishing till she was satiated.

Orange hues fluttered open. Rafiki had fallen asleep while waiting for the threat to attack, although it never did. His attention turned back to the lake, his sensitive ears catching the sounds of someone or something fishing. He silently climbed down the base of his home; the great oak tree, and made his way to the lake.
There, hidden in the bushes, Rafiki spotted the one who had been (or was) fishing. Another feline, who was also a female. He purred out, stepping from the bushes to reveal himself. Never once did he think this new feline to be a threat. He mewed out to her, although just as a greetings. “Hello there.” He purred, sitting at her side, although not too close.
(Shortness. I May not be posting much. Grandparents are in town. )

Airam finished consuming her last fish. A pile of fish bones laid next to the rock she rested on. She came down from the rock and returned to the lakeshore. There she washed herself up and lapped up some water. Grooming herself, she hears a noise. Her black tufted ears perked up to a sound that came from the bushes. So someone was here. She thought. She turns her head towards the bushes and sees another feline emerge from them.
With pale blue orbs looking at this other feline, she saw that he was a quite smaller than her. He sat next to her with some distance between them, while sits on her haunches right next to the lakeshore. Hearing him purr, she also saw that he was not a threat to her. Still looking at him she displays a slight smile and greets him back. “Hello.”

He purred deeper. "I havent seen you before.. " He chuckled to himself. He was new to these lands - which meant that he hasnt ever come across anyone or anything else. But she didnt know that. He was indeed smaller then her - perhaps the smallest of all the wild cats. "You live here?" He smiled, moving a bit closer.

OokamiInu jumped right into the lake at the distance, catching the scents of two felines. One she had recognized very well from her run, while the other was a new one. She swam acorss the small lake, going over to where they were.
The red orbs caught sight of the two, smirking, watching the male carefully. He's quite small indeed... She then swam to the lake's shore, pulling herself out, shaking off the water. She had quite a run and swim, but now it was time to meet her two felines, one she knew, and the other unknown.
She padded to them slowly, keeping an eye of them. She smirked, her canines bearing themselves again, as she lowly greeted the two. "Hello there...Nice to see you again Airam.."

The lynx sits there, looking over to the lake. “Well I haven’t seen you around here either.” She turns her head and looks at him again. Answering his question, she looks over to the lake once more. “No I don’t but I do visit these lands from time to time.” She sensed that she moved closer, and didn’t mind it. He seemed very friendly to her. “So what’s your name?”
Airam points her muzzle up a bit and takes in a deep breathe of air and exhaled. She smelled something. A scent that was familiar. OokamiInu… OokamiInu was one of her very few friends she knew. Airam lowered her muzzle and saw a figure in the horizon. Across the lake she saw her, the wolfdog, Ookami. Soon she came up shore. Airam watched the white wolfdog come nearer, smiling vaguely.
She stands on her fours now and starts to trod towards her. She greets her back with a small nuzzle to the side of her neck. “Hello Ookami.”

This was strange and unusual. Felines and canines coming together, rather then ripping each other's throats out. He tenses, tassle's end flickering. Would she still attack the ocelot knowing her friend was near? Or would she wait and attack him during the hours of the day, when she knew he'd be sleeping? Auds folded against his skull, pelt rippling. The lynx seemed busy with her canine friend. He pondered postponing her answer until another time..
A time where he wouldnt feel as threatened. Talons dug into the soil, orange hues flickering up at the two friends. How'd this happen? He purred softly, although for no reason. There was not a reason to purr. He was not happy, nor would he ever be. This entire family; his world.. had been destroyed by the very creatures that lurked the darkness.

Ookami chuckled slightly, licking her cheek as a small greeting.
"It's been quite awhile eh, Airam?"
The wolf-dog looked over to the ocelet, her ears perking up and her nose twitching to the sounds she heard from him. She stared at him with her crimson eyes, showing she was not here for a fight, just as a friend, but she could see in this ocelet's body stance and gleam in the eye, he obviously didn't trust her.
She then sat down, her taill swaying back and forth slowly, looking back to Airam. She could see she was alil full, from a meal of small morsel to her. She then looked to the ocelot, known as Rafiki, sighing slightly.
"Look...I'm...Not going to hurt you or anything. I know you may not trust me, due to the rumors of canines and felines clashing with each other, fighting to death or almost to it. I will not do any of that..Why..I have no reason to, right?"
She stared at Rafiki, with her crimson orbs, waiting to see what he said to her words.

She was licked on the cheek and smiled some.
“Yes. It has been quite awhile.”
She moves a bit over to the side, seeing that the wolfdog went to look over at the ocelot. Hearing what the wolfdog said, she assured Rafiki.
“Rafiki, don’t worry. She won’t harm you. She has no reason to. She and I have been good friends for quite awhile now. There is no need of feeling threatened.”
She pads towards Rafiki and nuzzles him onto the side to reassure him.

The young ocelot sighed, his orange hues closing as mixed emotions rushed though him: depression, happiness, an’ joy..
He shook his head, remembering what it was like to be touched by another feline – one that loved him. But now, sitting on Ookami’s shoulders, the young ocelot knew he’d never find that love again. She’s gone… He sighed, leaping off of Ookami’s back an’ landing right beside Airam. He gave a sad smile, just before returning to the darkness.
